Dan + Shay are "fired up" for this year's CMAs, nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year, and scheduled to perform their single "Save Me the Trouble" during the big night -- just a tease of what's to come when they hit the road in 2024 on their Heartbreak on the Map tour.
"This is gonna be the first time we're truly gonna get to play... we're probably gonna play the whole album, to be honest with you on this tour," Shay Mooney tells Audacy's Sabrina From Queens. Bigger Houses, the duo's fifth studio offering, was released at the end of September 2023 featuring the previously mentioned single along with 11 other album tracks.
"We're excited. We've gotten to play a couple of shows but not really that many. So I'm excited to kind of have that full-circle moment," Shay adds. "You write, you record, you put out the album and now getting to hear the fans sing back the words to new songs -- it's just a magical feeling."
"We're going to some places that we always love to go, some new places that we've never been before... We might be going some places that we havent announced yet," he adds of their 2024 schedule as Dan Smyers chimes in, "We do love New York."
Of course, we had to find out about any advice the two may have received going into their tenure as coaches on The Voice this season. "We tried to call Blake [Shelton]; he stopped answering our calls," says Dan. "I think he changed his number, got too big time," he jokes. "No, Blake's amazing, Reba [McEntire] is amazing. It's an honor for us to do it... It's been a crazy experience, it really has. I don't know why they chose us, but we got a big ol' double chair -- two chairs, one button. We gotta be locked in."
