Rice continues to celebrate the release of his newest album, I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell with his Way Down Yonder Tour, which kicked off last month and will continue to run the entire month of April.
On the tour, Rice promises to play all 13 songs that make up the new album — the song he refers to as the best ones of his career. “Tonight I drop the best album of my career. If that sounds cocky I’m sorry, I don’t mean it that way,” Chase said ahead of the album’s release date in February.
“This one just took a lot out of me. Hates in the title but love is the theme. I’ve learned a lot from so many of my screw ups, and this is just the start of that. Selfishly, I may have done this one more for me than for anybody, but I hope more than anything that y’all love it.”
The album is deeply personal for Rice as it was crafted in his Tennessee home-turned-studio and reflects with realities of his life with songs like “Bench Seat,” “Way Down Yonder,” “I Hate Cowboys” and “Key West & Colorado.”
