This morning, seemingly out of nowhere (but maybe we just missed all of the clues), Taylor Swift dropped the second track from the Fearless (Taylor’s Version) vault “Mr. Perfectly Fine.” If we had to guess, we would say Joe Jonas’ ears are burning. Why, you ask? Because there is a very good, most likely, fairly sure possibility that he is the “Mr. Perfectly Fine” referenced in the song.
For those of you who are new here, let us break it down for you. Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas dated back in 2008 (when Fearless was first released) and their relationship notoriously ended via a very short phone call. Fans may remember Taylor on Ellen back in the day where she called him out saying that someday she won’t “remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds.” Sounds like a “Mr. Casually Cruel” move if you ask us.

But the real reason why we think it’s probably, definitely, wink wink, about Joe Jonas is the response to the song by none other than Mrs. Joe Jonas herself: Sophie Turner.
Sophie posted the new track to her Instagram story shortly after the song dropped with the caption “It’s not NOT a bop” and tagging Swift herself. Taylor then shared that story to her story with the caption “forever bending the knee for the *crown emoji* of the north” which is definitely a Game of Thrones reference. You know… that really famous show Sophie was on.
So while Taylor has said in the past she doesn’t “paternity test” her songs with the timeline of when the song was written (remember, it is no less than 13-years-old) and how Joe was the (supposed) inspiration for at least one other track on the album (“Forever and Always”) it is safe to say he probably had something to do with the heartbreak that led to this bop.
So just remember: Cold was the steel of her axe to grind for the boys who broke her heart and now she sends their babies presents… and *goblin voice* releases old jams about them thirteen years later!
