Tonight, she also took home awards for Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Song for “Savage (Remix),” her smash hit with Megan Thee Stallion and Best Music Video for “Brown Skin Girl,” alongside first time GRAMMY winner, her “baby,” Blue Ivy. Bey also had the most GRAMMY nominations this year with nine. Awarded by R&B legends, Babyface and Jimmy Jam, Bey took the stage expressing, “as an artist, I believe it’s my job and all of our jobs to reflect the times and it’s been such a difficult time. So, I wanted to uplift and encourage and celebrate all the beautiful Black queens and kings that continue to inspire me…” She then showed love to her children (Sir, Rumi and Blue Ivy), saying, “I’m so honored to be your mommy. Y’all are my babies.”
Earlier in the night, Bey shocked the world again with a surprise appearance. Many believed that since she declined to perform, her presence would be confined to the privacy of her home. Thankfully, she showed up and showed out.
