Hoch and Crowder: Grading Tua Tagovailoa’s performance vs Kansas City

It’s rare to celebrate after a defeat in the NFL but the Dolphins should feel good about their play against the defending Super Bowl champions. 

Most importantly, their rookie QB had himself a day throwing for 316 yards and two touchdowns. Tagovailoa was critical of his play after the game, “Offensively we didn’t execute the way we should have, and I know a lot of that falls down on me with the leadership with these guys in the third quarter,” he said. But it should be noted that he led his team back from a 20 point deficit and just one stop away from possibly the greatest comeback of the season. 

With an 8-5 record going into week 15, the playoffs seem likely for Tagovailoa and the Dolphins, and the composure he showed down big to the best team in the NFL is something you love seeing from a rookie.
