Keeping Your Eye & Focus On The Upcoming 2020 High School Football Season

The Class of 2022 is loaded with talent in south Florida

By now, you all know the score. We do not have to remind you about the times we are living in.

While we won’t sit here and lie to you about upcoming spring football, summer camps at colleges and universities across the state and the nation. We know all of that will not be happening.

Coronavirus is something we have never seen before. It’s gripped the entire world, and while it is sending many of us to the sidelines to wait things out – there is also a group of people who will not give in to the fact that athletes have worked way too hard not to receive exposure and promotion.

While TV and radio stations will continue to run out of material that will entertain and keep their audiences, we will not do that. We have had practice – over the past half century of keeping high school football in the spotlight in the months away from the sport.

We have been fortunate to build up an audience that understands that we are here year round, and that is why we will continue to bring you daily information about football prospects across Miami-Dade and Broward – just like we have done since the end of December.

Our promotional machine is like no other – and with our spotlights and other avenues of social media, we will continue the flow of prospects to keep an eye on when football returns – whenever it may be.

Because the current status of our radio show on 560 The Joe – WQAM is not known, although listenership has proven to be as good as any radio show in south Florida. We are sure that it will bruise some major egos to hear that, but when you have over 100,000 social media followers and have been doing this for 50 years, they know exactly what you do and how important it is to the athletes, coaches, parents and fans – as well as the hundreds of college coaches who follow.

Having that weekly 2-hour radio show is huge, especially this time of year – because those very college football coaches who recruit athletes from this region of the country – want to get their voices on the airwaves and their thousands and thousands of followers will listen and have listened over the years.

What may be in the works – to keep the continuity alive and strong, and maintain the amazing following that a high school and football recruiting radio show, website and social media has, we could be putting together a FACEBOOK LIVE program that would still keep us in a spotlight we have been in for half a century.

Today, like every single day, we bring some more football players who will impact the 2020 season. Be safe and thank you for making is what we have become over the decades.

Here are some rising juniors (Class of 2022) to keep an eye on and watch some video:

Patrick Atkins, OL, Miami Gulliver Prep. Yet another Raider who is ready to have a breakout season for head coach Earl Sims and a team that will be among the best 4A programs in Florida in 2020.

This is an offensive lineman who we have already watched and evaluated after seeing this impressive program live a few times a year ago. His potential is off the charts.

Leon Hart Jr., LB, Miami Edison. One of the most productive prospects that head coach Luther Campbell and the Red Raiders will roll out this coming season.

Quality playmaker who has the chance to be very special. College coaches have already watched and is a major force for a 3A team that is expected to do some big things. Quick, athletic and instinctive.

Aaron Hicks, OL, Deerfield Beach. From the first time we watched this young man play last spring, there was never a question how good he was going to be. This is certainly the future for head coach Jevon Glenn and the Bucks.

By this time next year, this is one of those elite big men who will be on everyone’s recruiting list – as he should be. Quick feet, athletic and always working on his strength.

Keshaun Hudson, DT/OG, Coconut Creek. Another emerging standout that we had the opportunity to see a number of times, and this impressive two-way lineman has an opportunity to be very special for first year head coach Cedric Alexander this coming season.

A very athletic football player who is being watched by several college coaches already – and is expected to really make a huge impact this coming season.

Scott Kean, QB, Fort Lauderdale Pine Crest. We have put this young man in the spotlight and watched him at a number of off-season events and have left very impressed. He is going to be special for head coach Ladell Betts and his team.

The younger brother of former University School and University of South Florida QB Brett Kean, his arm strength and decision making continues to improve as more and more college coaches will see him during the 2020 season.

Kenyatta Jackson, Jr., DE, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna. One of the impressive football talents, who has size, quickness and plenty of athletic ability. A part of head coach Dameon Jones and a Lions’ team that is looking for a mind-boggling fourth consecutive 3A state title.

This football talent can move around the football field and has tremendous instincts.

Jayden John, PK, Miami Central. With all the impressive football specialists that we have in south Florida, quality talent like this man gets lost – and that is something that will change this coming season.

One of better athletes, keep an eye on his progress this coming season and you be impressed. He is way under-the-radar for head coach Roland Smith and the Rockets.

Jamaal Joseph, RB, Hialeah Barbara Goleman. Having the pleasure of watching head coach Ariel Cribero and the Gators this past season, the job that he did was amazing. He built a football program at a school that is not normally known for the sport.

In this young man, he has a very talented football player who will continue turning heads for a program that is indeed one of the players in a group of Independent programs that is out to build the brand. Joseph is a quick and elusive back who got better and better throughout the course of a season.

Ken Moore Jr., CB, Miami Christopher Columbus. Perhaps one of the players who matured as much as any youngster in that secondary in just a month.

This is a very impressive young man who has the chance to vault himself to another tier of prospects by the end of the 2020 season. He is a natural in the secondary – and had his chance to learn on the job. Love his future and so does head coach Dave Dunn.

Zion Turner, QB, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas. This is a talented young man who truly surprised a lot of people this past season, leading the Raiders to an undefeated season and a share of a national title.

He grasped the offense during the course of a season, and by the time head coach Roger Harriott’s team broke St. Louis High of Hawaii’s lengthy winning streak, this is a quarterback who had grown up. Has arm strength, improved leadership and has the ability to run the ball when needed. This is another football talent who can blow up in a major way this coming season.
