There is no getting around the fact that talent in south Florida is so impressive, every weekend a new star is born.
As the off season is fully under way, events like the Forida Fire 7-on-7 tryout at Milander Stadium in Hialeah is something that happens every week.
While much of the nation freezes and other parts turn their attention to other sports, south Florida is already in the spotlight for producing football talent.
High school football in this region of the country never stops – and the interest level – especially in Miami-Dade and Broward is amazing, and in many cases steals the spotlight from college and professional football.
Using the NFL players as a barometer, with 25 south Floridians taking part in the post season this past weekend, January does not signal basketball – it still means that football is at a fever pitch.

SCHOOL: Homestead
CLASS: 2023
HEIGHT: 6-1
WEIGHT: 170
SCOUTING: One of the prospects in the 305, who has been on the radar for a few years – after a stellar youth career and this past season at Doral Academy.
His move to Homestead, in the off season with 14 other quality prospects, shows that the Broncos fully intend on being a player in 2020.
What you get with this impressive talent, who is not just a tremendous receiver, but also a quality defensive back, is a talent who is going to be elite – in so many ways.
Jester is quick, athletic and very talented. Put him on a football field – like he was on Sunday – and he does not blend it. This is someone who is easily as good as you get.
Lets face it, south Florida is a large area with so many quality football players, many people who rate and evaluate talent continue to do it from film and rarely see these young men live, which has long been the norm. But there are some athletes who need to be watched in person to fully see how their skills just jump out at you.
Finishing his freshman season, Jester now looks forward to his second year – and you can almost guarantee that by the time spring football is completed, his offer sheet will be as impressive as anyone – in and grade.
