Freshman WR Lamar Seymore Is Catching On With Miami Central - Quickly

Lamar Seymore Is Next WR Up

If you have followed high school football for any length of time in south Florida, you already know that it doesn’t matter what grade you are in.

When it comes to football, more and more prospects are playing as freshmen and making a major impact.

Look around at the successful programs and you will see 9th graders who made a huge difference this past season – even for many of the state champions we had.

While there was a time when 9th and 10th graders would spend time on the junior varsity, getting ready for the future, the athletes are more advanced than ever before.

SEYMORE PROFILE

PLAYER: Lamar Seymore

POSITION: WR

SCHOOL: Miami Central

CLASS: 2023

HEIGHT: 6-1

WEIGHT: 170

SCOUTING: When the season began, the Miami Central Rockets had a lot of promise on the offensive side of the ball – with a solid quarterback and a line that featured University of Miami commit Laurence Seymore. The quality junior that they call “Big Baby” was indeed a catalyst.

By the end of the season – when this program captured the 6A state title – another Seymore was standing tall – and this one is just a freshman.

Lamar has now emerged into one of the top young pass catchers on a program that has long promoted its players, and with a head-turning performance at the Florida Fire 7-on-7 tryout, everyone now knows this impressive prospect who will start to pick up plenty of interest.

The Seymore brothers are certainly making noise for the Rockets – and it’s only going to get better in 2020.
