QUICK HITS – Coral Gables Will Build With A Key Mix of Youth & Veterans

Coral Gables Is LookingTo Make Some Major Strides In The 2020 Season

While the Coronavirus is dictating high school football, across the country, we can understand the need for ongoing exposure.

Because we promote high school football in south Florida year-round, there is no need to stop right now.

In the coming weeks, we will have a brief look at the school in south Florida in a segment that we call “QUICK HITS”.

Today, our “QUICK HITS” heads back down to Coral Gables and visits the 8A Coral Gables Cavaliers.

QUICK HITS

SCHOOL: Coral Gables Cavaliers

HEAD COACH: Roger Pollard

2019 RECORD: 4-7

CLASSIFICATION: 8A

WHO ARE WE LOOKING AT FOR 2020:

2022 - Terry Doctor, LB

2021 - Kevin Juarez, OL

2022 - Lamar Jones, LB

2021 - Bryant Iglesias, OL

2021 - Alex Hardman, OL/DL

2021 - Alexander Bell, WR/DB

2021 - Tamaris James, WR

2022 - Aris Angelo, QB

2022 - Darren McQueen Jr., DB

2021 - Troy Frederick, DB

SUMMARY: When he returned back to his alma mater, Coach Pollard was out to build the program from the bottom up – with young prospects who bought into the way he did things when he stepped down, briefly.

What this 2020 season will be about is developing some young talent along with veteran players who have been aboard, and while a few key losses will sting a bit, this has long been a program that has been able to build, and the next few years will uncover that.

Do not ever count Coach Pollard and his staff short. They have been in the race before, and will be back there again!

For the past 50 years, we have spent more time on football fields than anyone in the country. From games to practices, camps, combines and 7-on-7 events, nobody has evaluated more football talent than we have – and as we are in the midst of a pandemic like no other time before – we will remain steadfast to promote all south Florida’s high school football prospects.
