Joey Bosa (Chargers), Daniel Jones (Giants) Host Big Game Event At Miami Central High

Joey Bosa, Daniels Jones Do Some Teaching

While there were dozens of events going on around Super Bowl weekend in south Florida, Miami Central High was certainly a destination that many campers flocked to.

As Pro Camps put down their stakes at the home of the Rockets this past Friday and Saturday, youngsters and fans came to see New York Giants rookie quarterback Daniel Jones and south Florida’s own Joey Bosa, who spent time giving instruction and talking with the campers who took time to take part in this event.

Throughout the one-day camp, Bosa, Jones, and several coaches offered tips and hands-on instruction, including lectures, fundamental football skills stations, contests, and non-contact games in a high-energy, fun, and positive environment.

Campers were placed in small groups by age to ensure that each camper received maximum instruction. The camp had several local coaches on hand, including Tommy Lewis (Westminster Academy), Kelsie Lordeus and David Gray.

“This was a great experience for the young athletes who came out,” said Gray, who has been at several area high school programs. “Watching their interaction with Joey and Daniel was great as well. They see them on TV and then have a chance to be right there with them.”

Indeed, the opportunity for these first through 8th graders to get instruction from players they watch every week on TV and at their local stadiums was well worth the time spent.

Both Jones and Bosa gave these campers something during the three hours that they may never learn from their coaches, so it was certainly beneficial.

Bosa, who attended St. Thomas Aquinas and Ohio State, watched his brother, Nick, play in the Super Bowl – along with dad, John, a former Miami Dolphins’ first round draft pick. He is one of the best defensive ends in the game today.

Jones started for the Giants in his first season after coming out of Duke University.
