Douglas 2021 QB Matthew O’Dowd Keeps His Dream Alive

Matthew O'Dowd Is One To Watch For 2020

There are some people – in every walk of life – that simply will not give up on their dream.

No matter how large the obstacle may be, there are some who continue to live out a dream – taking each bump in the road as a learning experience on the way to reach a destination that they wanted to be at.

In football, competition is always healthy, and while some things are out of control many times, keeping your eye on the grand prize certainly separates many of us.

Sports often imitates life – and while it is never easy to get to the finish lines, the paths that all of us take are never the same.

O’DOWD PROFILE

PLAYER: Matthew O’Dowd

POSITION: QB

SCHOOL: Parkland Douglas

CLASS: 2021

HEIGHT: 6-2

WEIGHT: 205

SCOUTING: While he was a two schools before reaching Douglas High a year ago, here is a talented football player who made the most every opportunity and ran with it until he crossed the finish line.

Leading the Eagles to one of the top seeds in 8A a year ago, before losing to Miami High in the opening round of the state playoffs, this impressive quarterback prospect truly turned heads along the way.

A solid passer who has a tremendous arm and has shown plenty of leadership – as well as running when he needed, he gave out this program in a position they have not been at for a long time.

As he enters his final season, this is one prospect who has to be proud that he has worked hard and has put his team in a situation to once again be among the best in the class.
