University of Miami Athletic Director Blake James said Tuesday morning on The Joe Rose Show that the numbers of positive Covid tests and contact tracing were just too high for them to continue on and with that, a promising season has come to a screeching halt.  Miami was supposed to be hosting Georgia Tech this weekend but instead, they won’t play again until December 5th.  While this is certainly disappointing news, Blake James was not deterred and he believes the team will get through this and make it back on the field.

James told Joe Rose, “We’re not playing a game this Saturday and we are not playing a game next Saturday, the most important thing for us to do is to do our part as a program to take the correct steps to protect these young people and their well being…and then it’s continuing to make good decisions."

The Canes are now expected to resume their season on December 5th with the other two games being moved to the 12th and 19th.
