Another day, another Dolphin legend stopped by The Joe Rose Show to talk about the team's inspired play this season. Yesterday it was Jason Taylor and today is was the Head Coach of American Heritage Pat Surtain. Pat and JT will meet as coaches on the field tomorrow night when American Heritage takes on St. Thomas. While Pat’s focus is on his team’s nationally televised High School Football game tomorrow night, he still had time to address the debut of Tua Tagovailoa.
Pat was one of the best cornerbacks in Dolphin history and certainly knows a few things about quarterback play as he had 37 career interceptions. Pat said this about Tua’s debut, “It was so-so…Tua didn’t have many opportunities because the defense kept turning the ball over and scoring. I expect him to get better and better as the season goes on, he got his feet wet a little bit and found out what an NFL game was about…I expect the Tua I’ve seen for three years at Alabama, I think he’s going to be lights out.
Tua gets his next shot on Sunday when the Dolphins travel to Arizona to take on the Cardinals. Sunday’s game kicks at 4:25 PM and can be heard here on WQAM.
