The Canes made a statement with their 31-19 win over Pitt on Saturday. The statement said the loss hangovers are a thing of the past. There was concern that after the Clemson loss last week that Miami would have trouble bouncing back but the Canes put that to rest quickly.
Head Coach Manny Diaz joined The Joe Rose Show for his weekly Monday interview and had this to say about the effort, “You had to put the Clemson game behind you and then Pitt is just always a tough out… I thought the way all three phases complemented each other was the coolest part about the game.”
Miami will get another chance to shine in primetime again when they host a tough Virginia team on Saturday. Coach Diaz said of another night home game “2020 has been the weirdest year and shoot this is our last home game in October, we only have three home games left to see this team in person…this is a special team, it’s worth coming out seeing and supporting, we had sports taken away for a long time so the fact we got it back and can get out there I think is one of the success stories of 2020.”
