Just as things were starting to look up for the Cavs, they were dealt some bad news.
The team announced on Monday that guard Collin Sexton has a torn meniscus and will need further evaluation to determine just how long he will be out.

Sexton left Sunday’s 126-109 road win over the Knicks in the second quarter and did not return to the game. He underwent an MRI at the Cleveland Clinic Sports Health which revealed the torn meniscus.
The 22-year-old has been a bright spot on the Cavs in recent years, although his numbers through the first 11 games this season were not quite up to par.
Sexton was averaging 16 points, 2.1 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 0.9 steals per game prior to his knee injury.

Last season, Sexton was the team’s leading scorer, averaging a career-high 24.3 points per game and shotting 47.5% from the field, including 37.1% from 3-point range.
While Sexton’s scoring numbers are down, he is still shooting 45.3% from the field this year, but struggling from beyond the arc at 24.4%.
It’s still a significant loss for the Cavs, winners of four straight and off to a surprising 7-4 start as they will be without Sexton for an extended amount of time.
