PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Along with the news that starting linebacker Vince Williams went on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, more bad news as receiver Chase Claypool did not practice on Thursday due to illness.
It’s not certain that Claypool will head to the COVID-19 list, but it was the first step for a few to end up there. Chris Wormley missed practice Wednesday with illness, but was able to return to practice on Thursday.
Corner Steven Nelson went through a second consecutive full practice as corner Joe Haden (concussion) and linebacker Robert Spillane (knee) did not practice.
If Spillane misses and with Williams out, newcomer Avery Williamson would start at one position and converted safety Marcus Allen would start at the other. Reserve linebacker Ulysees Gilbert has begun his road back from injured reserve. He is practicing and could be activated in time for Sunday’s game.
Kicker Chris Boswell went through his first full practice in a couple of weeks, and is on course to return against Buffalo on Sunday.
