Managing the Yankees is arguably the toughest coaching job in sports -- just ask Aaron Boone.

Despite Boone's shiny .603 winning percentage since taking over ahead of the 2018 season, a faction of fans are growing restless with the Yankees' title drought stretching to a 13th year.

Some of those voices have been emboldened by the Phillies' postseason run under manager Rob Thomson, a former longtime Yankees coach and a finalist for the job that ultimately went to Boone.

Further fueling their frustration were the glowing comments made by Yankees legend Derek Jeter prior to Tuesday night's World Series Game 3 in Philadelphia.

The Hall of Famer sung Thomson's praises to the extreme, claiming he wouldn't be where he is today without Thomson's guidance, insight and support.

"I've known Rob Thomson since I was 18 years old, and Rob has done everything that you can possibly do in the game. He's been a coach, he's been a bench coach, he's been a manager, he's been a farm director. He's done everything. Just going to Spring Training, he was responsible for every individual -- whether it was the pitchers, the catchers, the infielders, the outfielders. He's someone that pays attention to detail, and he's 1, 2, 3, 4 steps ahead of you. And I wouldn't be where I am it weren't for Rob Thomson. ..."

Jeter's glowing evaluation of Thomson left a small but vocal minority of Yankees fans on social media green with envy:
