Remember that video of Saquon Barkley golfing in shorts that made the rounds on social media a few years ago? Well consider this photo of Falcons newcomer Mike Davis, captured at Tuesday’s OTAs in Atlanta, its spiritual successor. Good lord, those quads.
Looking every bit of his listed 220 pounds, it’s a marvel Davis, who registered 1,015 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns (six rushing, two receiving) in his 15 games for Carolina last year, managed to fit into his team-issued practice gear (talk about snug). Holy gun show, how are those biceps not photo-shopped?
A journeyman with 14 touchdowns to his NFL credit, Davis’ hometown Falcons will be his fifth team in seven seasons. With little in the way of competition—Atlanta’s anemic backfield features gems such as Qadree Ollison (career 2.3 yards per carry) and undrafted Oregon product Tony Brooks-James—Davis should be poised for RB1 status in Atlanta.
Clearly in awe of the chiseled 28-year-old, football fans on Twitter spent much of Tuesday afternoon salivating over Davis’ godlike physique.
Davis doesn’t have elite wheels or a particularly distinguished NFL track record (career 3.7 yards per carry), but I know I wouldn’t want to stand in the way of this human freight train.
