Kevin Weekes played in The NHL and covers the league on TV and he knew Panthers’ Coach Quenneville had to go after sexual assault incidents years ago saying, “It was beyond obvious that he needed to go.”
He goes even further saying, “I did not like him on the bench against Boston.”
This incident is nothing new according to Weekes, he claims “For years up till now whistle blowers and victims have been ignored.”
Weekes has noticed, “Accountability is only expected and demanded from players and not higher ups.”
He was a minority in a sport that does not have many so Weekes says, “You have to have more empathy and compassion for people with differences.”
Weekes urges all in hockey this, “Sometimes you have to do the right thing even if it is not popular.”
Shifting to his former team, Weekes says, “On the hockey side, The Panthers are having an amazing year.”
With an interim coach will The Panthers continue their winning ways? We will find out as they have two games this weekend.
