NBA Insider Shams Charania probably won’t be getting any scoops from Jimmy Butler’s agent.
Charania had recently reported for Stadium that there was “very, very testy moments behind the scenes between Jimmy and that coaching staff” as the team prepares for its NBA playoffs matchup with the No. 3 seed Milwaukee Bucks.
Butler’s agent, Bernard Lee, took exception to this report and called out Charania in an expletive-laden tweet in which he denigrated the reporter and refuted the story.
Lee’s aggressive response to Charania certainly seems unusual.
Charania is regarded by NBA fans as an extremely credible reporter and is often first and accurate on breaking news stories, especially during free agency.
Either Lee is going super aggressive to diminish the report or it really is not true.
Whatever it may be, it is not every day you see an agent publicly attack a reporter on social media.
