PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – After a day of going full, Steelers kicker Chris Boswell was unable to practice Thursday due to a groin injury. A few defensive players are back to working an entire practice.
Boswell is concerning as he missed the game against Washington in week 13 with a leg injury. He missed the Indianapolis game was well with this latest groin issue. The near 30-year-old has missed only one field goal this year and four extra points.
Inside linebacker Marcus Allen (stinger) was able to practice full for a second straight day, same with outside linebacker Ola Adeniyi (shoulder). With Allen back full and Robert Spillane working his way back, that could give defensive coordinator Keith Butler some depth.
“I don’t know how that feels,” Butler said. “It will help us for sure. Mick Spillane has stood up for us. I think he has played real well for us. Marcus will be there. That’s a good thing.”
Looks like safety Terrell Edmunds won’t play Sunday at Cleveland, the Steelers third leading tackler has missed all week with a shoulder injury.
Defensive linemen Stephon Tuitt (back) and Tyson Alualu (ankle) were back full. Fellow lineman Cam Heyward and guard David DeCastro returned from a day off.
TJ Watt, Maurkice Pouncey and Ben Roethlisberger have not practiced all week, but those decisions were not injury related.
