Maggie Gray admitted at the end of Tuesday’s Moose & Maggie Show that she has never, thankfully, been personally privy to any kind of situation similar to the one that now-former Mets GM Jared Porter was fired for.
“I don’t want just my experience to speak for every woman who is out there, because women have to deal with this every day,” she said, “but I’ve never felt that kind of harassment. There are times where I’ve had to laugh off uncomfortable comments, or felt I was better off ignoring things or being agreeable – but it comes in a long spectrum. Is it extreme, or is it micro-aggressions, or off-handed comments? All of these are things women have to deal with, and prevent women from coming forward.”
Porter’s dismissal in the wake of reports surfacing of him sending lewd texts to a reporter was the dominant headline of the day, so Maggie addressed the topic in depth at the top of the show.
Later in the show, a caller asked why it may have taken so long for the victim to come forward and for the story to come to light, which led Maggie to shed some light on an unfortunate notion:
