The Hurricanes Football team are in Covid protocol but former Cane Brian Monroe thinks the bowl game will happen saying, “I do not see it being delayed or cancelled unless half the team is held out.”

He continues, “I think they have time to figure everything out and cleared.”

Though he feels the Sun Bowl will happen it may look a little different saying, “It might be like these NFL Games with a third string player playing and you are like who the hell is this?”

When asked if the teams will come out and give it their all, Monroe quickly answers, “For me it is all about pride, you do not want to get whooped.”

Monroe also feels the players need to play, stating “It is the only game on, maybe scouts are watching and something pops out at them.”

There is another reason to play in the bowl game, Monroe adds, “It is also a way to kick start next season.”

As far as the new coach, Mario Cristobal, Monroe has not really talked to him but remains hopeful saying the coach told he and the former players, “After we get all the craziness aside, we will all catch up.”

Monroe says Cristobal will point The Canes in a different direction saying, “I definitely know thing will change in attitude with the team and recruiting will be different along the offensive line.”
