Former Maverick and now the team’s color analyst Derek Harper fondly remembers his days in New York as a Knick saying, “New York will always have a place in my basketball heart. Coach Riley much respect.”
Harper played for Pat Riley and explains, “Coach Riley is a winning fanatic, he was all about winning at all costs.”
He adds that in New York, “A lot of the players on that team had that mentality as well.”
On today’s NBA, Harper believes, “I marvel at the greatness I see night in night out.”
He is a believer in Miami thought saying, “The Culture in Miami is you are either in or your out.”
Why is Miami so magic? Harper says, “Every team Pat Riley touches turns into a contending team.”
Harper likes the way The Heat plays stating, “If they lose a series it is because they got beat, they really lose a series.”
Miami is tops in The East with the second half of the season on the way.
