On Monday's show, Erik Spoelstra's comments following the Miami Heat's loss to Charlotte sent Tobin into a rage-filled rant for the ages.
On Sunday, Miami fought back from a huge deficit but eventually lost in Charlotte. When Spoelstra said he was proud of his team, Tobin lost it.
"He said... I was proud of the way we battled back against the Hornets," Tobin said calmly. But the calm didn't last. "And I was like, 'Dude, top-15er, All-timer, Hall of Famer, Erik Spoelstra'... You can't be proud of your team battling back from the Hornets after they just lost to the Hornets. It's the Hornets. They're trying to lose. And you're going to sit here with a straight face because you're so even-keeled all the time, nothing fazes you.
"Just for once I would like him to say, 'We played like a bunch of fat-cat bums.' But no, he had to sit there and had the audacity to say 'I was proud of us battling back from being down 20 to the motherbleeping Hornets."
As Tobin was winding down, he threw out one final salvo.
"How could he say that," he asked, "How could you be proud of anything in that Hornets game? For shame. For shame."
