Former Cane and World Series Champion Jon Jay is preparing for a charity bowling tournament because he now has time that he is retired but he does miss his playing days saying, “I definitely miss comradery and I miss playing baseball.”
He owes much to the game claiming, “Baseball saved my life.”
When it comes to his kids playing sports, Jay does not get to involved saying, “I am going to be laid back as long as my kids are learning and having fun.”
Baseball gives them plenty to learn, Jay says, “In baseball you fail every day.”
When it comes to best postgame spread, Jay proclaims the best, “Has to be one of the New Yorks.”
Now that he is retired from baseball, Jay keeps on eye on the game and says, “I check box scores but I am not totally in, I am spending more time with the family.”
Finally, what was it like to play in a World Series? Did he get nervous? Jay says, “Once the game turns on, it is just baseball.”
Baseball, bowling, family, Jon Jay does it all.
