We get non-stop NBA action tonight, as there is a ten-game slate! That means there are plenty of studs to choose from for our player prop bets. We get so many fun matchups tonight, but I’ll go with Hornets-Nuggets as the marquee game. Denver is favored by 6.5 points and the total is set to 229, which means we should see plenty of scoring.
As for today’s best NBA bets, player props are a fun way to wager on NBA games even if you don't like a side or total. I like to find matchups that I can exploit or good situations due to injuries.
Let’s dive into a couple of these scenarios now.
Kris Middleton OVER 19.5 points
Middleton comes into the game averaging 20.4 points per game (PPG), and that number has gone up to 21.4 over his last ten outings.
Middleton faced off against Philadelphia three times last season and averaged 25.3 PPG in those outings. Granted Philly has a different coaching staff and scheme this year, but with Joel Embiid out, the Sixers are going to need to figure out how to guard Giannis. That should open up Middleton’s output tonight.
The total is the highest on the board, so the script calls for a lot of scoring. I trust Middleton to get to at least 20 in this spot.
Michael Porter Jr. OVER 2.5 threes made
MPJ is coming off of a game in which he went 0-4 from deep, so we are getting a good number here. On the season, he is averaging 2.3 threes made on 5.6 attempts per game.
Before his clunker last game, Porter Jr. was on fire from deep over an eight game span where he shot over 50% from three. We should see some positive regression tonight.
He gets a good matchup against a Charlotte team that is 29th in three pointers allowed. The total is the second highest on the board, so plenty of threes will be hoisted. As long as MPJ can find his touch again, he should eclipse this number.
LaMelo Ball OVER 6.5 assists
Ball is a showman and gets up for games like this. He comes into the matchup averaging 6.3 assists per game (APG), and that number has gone up to 6.9 APG over his last ten games.
The Nuggets are 27th in assists allowed and the game script calls for a ton of points. If Ball can limit his turnovers, I can see him easily hitting this mark. At + money, this bet is worth the risk for me.
