Long-time San Francisco Giants fan-favorite Pablo Sandoval has landed a job for the 2022 season, but it won't be with an MLB team.

Acereros de Monclova revealed Monday -- H/T Anthony Franco of MLB Trade Rumors -- that they've signed Sandoval for this upcoming season.

This comes after Sandoval slashed just .178/.302/.342 in 69 games for the Atlanta Braves in 2021. Sandoval was traded by the eventual World Series Champions to Cleveland for Eddie Rosario in July, but never actually appeared in a game for the franchise now known as the Guardians.

However, Sandoval is just three years removed from hitting .359 as a pinch-hitter for the San Francisco Giants in 2019, so it's hardly out of the question that the 35-year-old could still provide some value in another league.

Of course, before he was relegated to being a bat off the bench, Sandoval was an excellent third basemen for the Giants, finishing seventh in National League MVP voting in 2009, and making All-Star Game appearances in both 2011 and 2012. Most notably, Sandoval hit three home runs against the Detroit Tigers in Game 1 of the 2012 World Series, en route to winning the MVP of the Fall Classic.

If Sandoval's major league career is over, he'll finish his career with a .278/.330/.443 slash line, 153 home runs, 639 RBIs, 1,279 hits and a .773 OPS. The man affectionally referred to as "The Kung Fu Panda" has 20 career postseason RBIs.
