Stars to open regular season on Jan. 22 after COVID-19 outbreak

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Stars will finally begin their quest for the Stanley Cup on Jan. 22, following the team's bout with COVID-19.

The Stars were slated to open their season on Jan. 14, but it was postponed after 17 players tested positive for the virus during a two-week period. The team was forced to shut down their facilities on Jan. 8 and resumed practice on Jan. 12.

The outbreak caused the Stars to miss their first four games, which have now been rescheduled for later in the season.
