Texans agree to trade RB Mark Ingram to Saints: reports

Texans leading running back Mark Ingram is headed back to the team which drafted him.

The team has agreed to trade Ingram to the New Orleans Saints, according to multiple media reports.

Ingram has started all seven games this season for Houston (1-6), leading the team in rushing with 294 yards on the ground and a touchdown. The 11th-year veteran was a first-round draft pick by the Saints in 2011 and was named to the Pro Bowl twice there.

Ingram moved on to the Baltimore Ravens in 2019 and 2020, when current Texans head coach David Culley was an offensive assistant there. Ingram was a Pro Bowler again in 2019.

The Texans signed Ingram this offseason to a one-year, $3 million contract. He was widely considered to be one of the team leaders, both on the field and in the locker room.
