Tom Brady may be the most decorated football player in NFL history with seven Super Bowls on his resume, but the quarterback says he is not even the best athlete in his own family.
That would be Maya Brady — Tom’s niece and star softball player for the No. 2 ranked UCLA Bruins.
Maya jumped on everybody’s radar on Sunday when a clip of her first home run of the season was making the rounds on social media.
Tom helped the clip garner attention by quote-tweeting it.
“Maya Brady, the most dominant athlete in the Brady family…by far!”
Maya turned on a pitch that was ripped over the right-center field fence to give UCLA a 12-0 lead.
Maya led UCLA with seven home runs and tied for the team lead with 28 RBI last season as a freshman, and was named the Softball America Freshman Player of the Year.
She is the oldest daughter of Tom’s oldest sister, Maureen Brady, who was an All-American pitcher at Fresno State.
It is not the first time Tom has lauded his niece. He also called her the “most athletic person of the family,” in an interview with the Boston Globe in 2019.
“She’s just a great athlete, so competitive,” he said. “And she’s been on such winning teams and she’s such a great teammate. It’s so impressive.”
