10. Mike Yastrzemski, San Francisco Giants

Age During 2022 Season: 31
2021 Statistics: .224/.311/.457 with 25 home runs, 71 RBIs, 51 walks, .768 OPS, 106 OPS+, five defensive runs saved, six outs above average and a 2.2 fWAR

After finishing eighth in National League MVP Award voting in 2020, Yastrzemski homered 25 times and played excellent defense in one of the more difficult outfields in the league. However, the Giants will likely need the late-bloomer to get on base at a higher clip in 2022 if they hope to repeat as National League West Champions. It should be noted that new Miami Marlins' right fielder Avisaíl García and Max Kepler of the Minnesota Twins drew consideration for this spot.

Brandon Nimmo

9. Brandon Nimmo, New York Mets

Age During 2022 Season: 29
2021 Statistics: .292/.401/.437 with eight home runs, 28 RBIs, 54 walks, .838 OPS, 132 OPS+, four defensive runs saved (in center field), four outs above average (in center field) and a 3.5 fWAR

Nimmo is an on-base machine, and he makes sure you remember that by sprinting to first base every time, even after a walk. Nimmo's ability to play all three outfield positions allowed the Mets to sign Starling Marte this offseason, meaning he'll shift from center field to right field. However, he was one of the few needle movers in center field in the league, and he may actually be less valuable as a corner outfielder. The guess here is that Nimmo -- set to become a free agent after the 2022 season -- will be playing center field for someone in 2023.

Michael Conforto

8. Michael Conforto, Free Agent

Age During 2022 Season: 29
2021 Statistics: .232/.344/.384 with 14 home runs, 55 RBIs, 59 walks, .729 OPS, 101 OPS+, -4 defensive runs saved, zero outs above average and a 0.8 fWAR

Conforto had a relatively underwhelming contract year for the New York Mets, but that came after he posted an .875 OPS between 2019 and 2020. The former All-Star is still on the right side of 30, and wherever he signs, he figures to have a bounce-back season in 2022.

Teoscar Hernandez

7. Teoscar Hernández, Toronto Blue Jays

Age During 2022 Season: 29
2021 Statistics: .296/.346/.524 with 32 home runs, 116 RBIs, 36 walks, .870 OPS, 133 OPS+, -2 defensive runs saved, -3 outs above average and a 3.9 fWAR

While Hernández could see a larger chunk of his at-bats at DH in 2022, he's won back-to-back Silver Slugger Awards as an American League outfielder. Hernández was an All-Star in 2021 for the first time, and should continue to put up that caliber of production as he hits in a Toronto Blue Jays lineup that is one of the best in the sport.

Kyle Tucker

6. Kyle Tucker, Houston Astros

Age During 2022 Season: 25
2021 Statistics: .294/.359/.557 with 30 home runs, 92 RBIs, 53 walks, .917 OPS, 147 OPS+, 11 defensive runs saved, four outs above average and a 4.8 fWAR

Tucker broke out in 2021, homering 30 times and adding six outfield assists, one of a slew of very impressive defensive statistics. The former No. 5 overall pick is a sleeper candidate for American League MVP in 2022, as the Astros look to return to the World Series.

Ronald Acuna Jr.

5. Ronald Acuña Jr., Atlanta Braves

Age During 2022 Season: 24
2021 Statistics: .283/.394/.596 with 24 home runs, 52 RBIs, 49 walks, .990 OPS, 155 OPS+, two defensive runs saved, zero outs above average and a 4.2 fWAR

If Acuña Jr. hadn't torn his ACL last July, he may very well have won the National League MVP and find himself at the top spot on this list. Unfortunately, Acuña's ACL tear not only prevented him from being able to be a part of Atlanta's World Series run, but it will sideline him at least for the first month of the 2022 season. Like Fernando Tatis Jr., Acuña plays a stacked position, and when you create a a list for who will be the best at their position in 2022, availability had to be factored in.

Aaron Judge

4. Aaron Judge, New York Yankees

Age During 2022 Season: 30
2021 Statistics: .287/.373/.544 with 39 home runs, 98 RBIs, 75 walks, .916 OPS, 149 OPS+, 11 defensive runs saved, zero outs above average and a 5.5 fWAR

For the first time since 2017, Judge stayed healthy in 2021, and the results he turned in were excellent, as he finished fourth in American League MVP Award voting. Now a three-time All-Star, Judge will make himself a ton of money if he can stay healthy for the second consecutive campaign, given that he's set to become a free agent after the 2022 season.

Bryce Harper

3. Bryce Harper, Philadelphia Phillies

Age During 2022 Season: 29
2021 Statistics: .309/.429/.615 with 35 home runs, 84 RBIs, 100 walks, 1.044 OPS, 179 OPS+, -6 defensive runs saved, -6 outs above average and a 6.6 fWAR

In 2021, Harper became just the 32nd player in MLB history to win multiple MVP Awards, as he rode a monster second half to claiming the National League's top honor. Still only 29, Harper will hit in a lineup in 2022 that should be drastically better than it was late in 2021, with the Phillies signing both Nick Castellanos and Kyle Schwarber during Spring Training. He's very much put himself in position to be a future Hall of Famer.

Mookie Betts

2. Mookie Betts, Los Angeles Dodgers

Age During 2022 Season: 29
2021 Statistics: .264/.367/.487 with 23 home runs, 58 RBIs, 68 walks, .854 OPS, 128 OPS+, four defensive runs saved, -2 outs above average and a 3.9 fWAR

Even in what was something of a down year by the incredibly high standard that he's set for himself, Betts was an All-Star and posted an .854 OPS. Assuming he plays in more than the 122 games he did a season ago, Betts will continue on his quest to join Frank Robinson as the only players in MLB history to win an MVP in each league.

Juan Soto

1. Juan Soto, Washington Nationals

Age During 2022 Season: 23
2021 Statistics: .313/.465/.534 with 29 home runs, 95 RBIs, 145 walks, .999 OPS, 175 OPS+, four defensive runs saved, five outs above average and a 6.6 fWAR

Even after the Nationals traded Trea Turner away -- further depleting an already underwhelming lineup -- Soto continued to put up one of the most complete offensive seasons in recent memory. Soto finished second in National League MVP voting after walking a staggering 145 times, the most since Barry Bonds set the MLB record with 232 in 2004. Soto has some qualities at the plate that remind you of a young Bonds, and the guess here is that he he'll go on to win multiple MVPs.
