
On Wednesday, the National Quarterback Club named Prince Avenue Christian School’s Brock Vandagriff the National High School Quarterback of the Year. The award adds to Vandagriff’s many career accomplishments which include closing out his final year of high school play on the field with the 2020 Georgia High School Association Class 1A Private state title. Vandagriff, a University of Georgia signee, completed his senior season with 4,169 total passing yards with 46 touchdowns through the air. He also rushed for a total of 503 yards with 17 rushing touchdowns. He threw for 10,087 total yards over the span of his high school career.
In a statement on the National Quarterback Club website, President Don Kile had this to say in regards to awarding Vandagriff the honor, “Players all across the country continued to prove that the high school sector is rich with talent, drive and commitment. Brock epitomizes what this award is all about.” Kile also credited Vandagriff’s off the field involvement with his local community as well as his academic performance as attributes to him earning the award. Vandagriff tweeted “An honor and thank you” in response to earning the award.
