There’s a reason our social team used a Simpsons quote in the post showing video of Evan Roberts finding out on air that the Nets got James Harden: it was a perfect fit.
Evan, diehard Nets fan that he is, spent the first two-plus hours of Carton & Roberts Show trying to talk himself into – or, more frankly, the Nets out of – Harden coming to Brooklyn. Unfortunately, his efforts were futile, as Harden is BKN bound for a package that sends four players, multiple picks, and multiple pick swaps to Houston and/or Cleveland (and eventually, in the case of Caris LeVert, Indiana).
And so, you didn’t literally see Evan’s heart break like Ralph Wiggum’s, but you can see his reaction that ran the gamut from angry to sad to bewildered as he dropped the mic, and then his head in his hands.
