Afrika is a native North Carolinian. After getting her start doing Gospel, at a small station in her hometown of Greensboro NC, she quickly got picked up by the RnB station in town, WQMG. It wasn’t long before she got the call to fulfill her destiny – morning radio, where her personality could REALLY shine. She moved to to do mornings first in Jacksonville, FL . then in Birmingham, AL. Afrika returned home to be close to her family, and on do be a star on the big hop hop station there, 102JAMZ, which was great until she got the call to go to South Beach. Afrika rocked the mic on the legendary Power 96, and after doing the morning show for two years, she got so big they gave her her own primetime show, every afternoon from 2 ‘til 6. After 8 years in Miami, it was time to move to Hollywood, and while there, Afrika entered the world of voice acting, with big clients like Gold Bond, Delta, and even landed some car commercials with GMC, Chevy, and Cadillac. After LA, she got the call to work in MOTOWN aka Detroit at Hot107-5. Afrika enjoys radio but also her heart lies in community service. She’s traveled and volunteered her time from New York to Africa.
