In my humble opinion, life is short and meant to be enjoyed. It is Black Cuisine Week on Lite 100.5 WRCH. I have never had African cuisine before, but with a visit to Sidibe African Restaurant, 242 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, all that has changed. This restaurant is small... and you might miss it. But look for the Tasty Ethnic Food marquee and drop in to sample foods from Gambia, Nigeria and Ghanai. There are two rice dishes - Jollof which is a one pot dish cooked with tomatoes, onions and topped with your choice of goat and lamb or chicken or beef. I had the goat and lamb and found it tasty. My favorite, though was the Waakye. It's rice and beans and Chef's Hot Sauce will put some spark in your life! I love HOT food and have had West Indian food quite a bit but the bite from his special sauce was phenomenal! I also tried fried chicken and fish. And it seems that your lunch plate comes with spaghetti and a hard boiled egg. Try something new! Visit Sidibe!
