Lite 100.5 will be partnering with local sponsors to raise awareness and donations dedicated to helping decrease barriers to access to screening for the underserved and underinsured women in our communities. Our focus is on helping this vulnerable group of women receive a life-saving mammogram. The Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute at Hartford Hospital's mobile mammography program, which helps thousands of women each year, provides free mammograms for those women who can’t afford it. In its 20 year history, the mobile program has provided over 30,000 mammograms and has helped in the diagnosis of hundreds of early cancers in underserved women, saving lives and decreasing disparities.
Visit Kloter Farms of Ellington during the month of October. For every $5,000 in sales, Kloter Farms will donate $150, the average cost of a mammogram to ensure that every woman has access to this essential health service.
