Susan Linker from Our Companions Animal Rescue brings in two fluffy babies looking for families! Let's meet them!
Meet vocal, playful and smart Vinny! A handsome 9 years old brown tabby who is ready for his forever home! Vinny enjoys being around people, chattering away his signature chirp, and making endless batches of biscuits on his favorite blankets. As a certified biscuit-maker, Vinny works in his floor cardboard scratcher multiple times a day to keep his nails in purrfect condition! Vinny may not be a “lap cat” but he will happily sit beside you while you watch TV, read or work and gladly accept some short, gentle sessions of petting and brushing until he’ll clearly let you know that he’s done, so it will be important the adopter knows how to read his cues and giving him space when he asks for it! Wonderful Vinny has such a youthful energy that you won’t believe he is 9 years old! He absolutely enjoys all sorts of interactive toys, but is particularly fond of his wired mouse, turkey feathers, ball tower and of course catnip! However, chasing toys behind a blanket get him going so watch out for those Zoomies! Vinny has a few health quirks including diabetes, asthma and is FIV+ and while it might sound like a lot, these conditions are easily manageable, and our smart and good-natured Vinny is already well adjusted to his daily routine so that he will be extremely cooperative! He receives a tiny amount of insulin twice a day for his diabetes, and a random puff of his inhaler for his occasional asthma. The FIV+ condition only requires that Vinny is kept strictly indoors, is provided with a quality diet and has a quiet and low-stress home where he can be the one and only king of the castle! Vinny will thrive in an adult only home under the care of a seasoned cat savvy person who understands boundaries and can keep consistent care and monitoring the small changes that matter for diabetic cat. Vinny will prefer to be your only pet and is looking for someone who appreciates a gentle, expressive cat with a lot of heart. Neo would be an award-winning X-Games athlete if they let dogs compete! Actually... he is a medal winner! Neo has competed in Nose Work Competitions and recently won THIRD PLACE! Winning awards in Dog Training Classes along with being an active adventurer makes him a great pal for people like him! He has a Social Butterfly badge and is a proud Family Companions’ Class Grad! Like most 4-year-old pit bulls, Neo loves to stay active with exercise, enrichment, and playtimes. He loves his outdoor adventures, finding big sticks in the woods, hiking, and playing with other dogs. In fact, Neo loves dog friends that have his same energy and playfulness! Whether you have another playful dog in the home or just have playtimes with Neo and friends, we do feel a yard with frequent outside access is needed for Neo to thrive. A home environment with adults only or teens would be the best fit for him too. Routine schedules help Neo navigate the world, as will continued doggy training for this young pup and his new human companions! He is insanely smart and fun to train; he’s even learned how to ride a skateboard and will happily cruise around with you on a paddleboard! The sky is the limit with Neo!
