The Hartford Chorale celebrates it’s 50th Anniversary Concert at the Bushnell in Hartford Friday 7pm.  The concert will feature a selection of great choral works by Vaughan Williams and Brahms as well as the premiere of the anniversary’s commissioned work Alive Poems: Stories of our American Heritage by Scott Perkins, a Connecticut native. It’s time for Sunday Serenades” Modern Creations.  A collaboration of the Hartford Symphony and Wadsworth Atheneum.  This concert will highlight Avery’s signature paintings and his Hartford roots in person at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.  1pm Gallery Talk with Erin Monroe, Krieble Curator of American Paintings and Sculpture – Meet in front of the Museum Shop.  2pm Concert – Enter through Avery Lobby.   Members of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra present an afternoon of Modernist works by Marc Mellits, Igor Stravinsky, Carlos Simon, and Bohuslav Martin.  Tickets are $30; $25 for HSO subscribers and Wadsworth members. Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition is a collection of the artist’s renowned ceiling frescoes from the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel, reproduced in a format that allows viewers to get face-to-face with the masterpieces. Six Flags New England is open for the season weekends and boasts the largest array of improvements in over a decade.  There will be mobile phone food ordering and a new app, single rider lines to shorten waits on popular attractions and increased seating areas including shady spots.  The park will be open weekends for now with the Water Park opening May 28th and 7 day a week operations beginning June 18th.  Admission is $79.99 at the gate.  $69.99 for kids.  Discounts are available online in advance, depending on which days.  www.sixflags.com

The Adventure Park at the Discovery Museum in Bridgeport has opened for the season with ziplines and climbing.

The Adventure Park, 2007 Storrs Rd in Storrs is open.  Enjoy ziplining and climbing to high energy music and colorful glowing lights on Glow in the Park Nights. The 9 trails at The Adventure Park consist of various challenges in the trees, including bridges, tightropes, ladders, and 26 ziplines.  Non-climbing participants are admitted free of charge to share the experience on the ground and enjoy the property’s nature trails, picnic tables and community firepit.
