Last year it was toilet paper that was difficult to find due to high demand at the beginning of the pandemic. This year, ketchup packets are making your french fries a little less tasty.
Because of so many people ordering food "to go" over the last year, and restaurants refraining from putting out bottles or jars of condiments on their tables, the demand for ketchup in packets has been high. The result is that now, they are difficult to find.
Kraft Heinz says that it is working to increase supplies, such as adding manufacturing lines that will increase production by about 25% for a total of more than 12 billion packets a year.
