Former LFO bandmate Brad Fischetti announced the details to fans in an Instagram post on his personal channel.
“Every story is made up of chapters. Some develop naturally. Some you have to cut up in your mind," says Fischetti. "The first two chapters of the LFO story lost a main character yesterday. Brian ‘Brizz’ Gillis passed away. I don’t have details and it wouldn’t be my place to share them if I did. I am really struggling to process this tragic loss.” You can read his touching post in full below.
Gillis and the late Rich Cronin, who died of a stroke in 2010 after battling leukemia, formed the Massachusetts pop act in 1995, adding Fischetti in 1996. The group's biggest hit, "Summer Girls," had us all singing the phrase "I like girls who wear Abercrombie & Fitch," throughout the '90s and '00s.
Singer Devin Lima replaced Gillis in the late '90s after he left the group to pursue solo endeavors. Lima also passed back in 2018 at the age of 41 after a year-long battle with stage 4 cancer.
