Recently, Connecticut announced a new round of grants focused on revitalizing underutilized properties around the state, also known as brownfield sites. Brownfield sites range from former factories in cities to mills in the hearts of historic villages. Most of them have been vacant for decades. Through the program, the state is awarding more than $19 million in grants to help with the costs of assessing and fixing up 31 properties in 23 municipalities across Connecticut.
