(Hartford Conn. WTIC)- Connecticut home sales rebounded in 2020, despite an anemic performance mid-year, according to the Warren group which specializes in real estate and financial information.
Figures show Connecticut homes sales increased 16-percent from the previous year, with the median home selling for $300-thousand. During April through June, home sales plunged ten, twenty and seventeen percent respectively.
Condo sales increased just under one-percent.
CEO Tim Warren credited the increase to strong demand and lower consumer spending which caused consumers to save. He adds low-interest rates didn't attract savings and consumers spent that money on stocks and homes.
Connecticut performed well nationwide beating nearby Massachusetts. Fairfield and Litchfield counties ranked the highest in home sales.
