Hartford, Connecticut (WTIC radio)
Southern New England is bracing for its first major snowfall of the season even with the official start of Winter still three weeks away. Forecasters say a coastal storm developing on Tuesday could dump between 3 and six inches of snow on Connecticut with lesser amounts near the southern shoreline. Its expected to be a wet snow which could possibly bring down power lines and cause power outages.
Utility crews statewide are gearing up for the storm which should move away from the region by Wednesday.
However forecasters say cold air should remain in place throughout the region at least for the remainder of the week.
