Yankees trade OF Taylor Trammell to Houston for cash considerations
The Yankees have made their first trade of the offseason, dealing outfielder Taylor Trammell to the Houston Astros in exchange for cash considerations.
Trammell had just been added to the Yankees’ 40-man roster on Sunday, so he will go onto the Astros’ 40-man.
The 27-year-old was guaranteed a ring no matter who won the World Series, as he started 2024 with the Dodgers and was claimed off waivers by the Yankees on April 18. He played 10 MLB games between the two teams, going 1-for-7 with a walk, but spent the majority of the year at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, slashing .256/.381/.488 with 18 home runs, 63 RBI, 60 walks, 20 doubles, 20 steals, and 65 runs scored.
Trammell is a career .167 hitter in parts of four major-league seasons with the Mariners, Dodgers, and Yankees.
