(WWJ) People enjoying a summer day in a west Oakland County park made a terrible discovery.

WWJ's Mike Campbell reports the burned body of a woman was discovered at about 8 a.m. Tuesday in a parking area near the Pontiac Lake State Recreation Area. No vehicle or any other indicators of the suspect were present at the scene.

No cause of death has yet been determined.

The woman, who has yet to be identified, is believed to be between 20-30 years old, and she was small. She was about 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighed 120-135 pounds.

Officials say there were no recent missing persons reports in the area that matched the woman’s description.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact White Lake Police Lieutenant Christopher Hild at 248-698-4404.
