2 arrested in Roseville after Molotov cocktail thrown at home, shots fired in Warren: cops

WARREN (WWJ) -- An investigation is ongoing in Warren in a case involving a shooting and fire in a neighborhood just south of I-696.

According to the Warren Police Department, calls came in just before 10 a.m. about shots fired near a home on Champaign Ave., west of Schoenherr Rd.

An investigation revealed that two men were allegedly seen carrying and throwing an object described as a Molotov cocktail at the home.

A Molotov cocktail, also known as a "bottle bomb," is a weapon typically made of a glass container filled with a flammable substance and equipped with a fuse, which is lit and then thrown by hand.

There was a small fire, but it was extinguished.

No injuries were reported.

Officers found shell casings in the area, police said, before tracking the suspects to a home in Roseville.

The pair fled before being arrested after a short chase, police said.

Police told WWJ Newsradio 950 the investigation was "still very active," and that more details would be released when it is complete.
