DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are still searching for a gunman who shot four people, killing two of them, inside a west side gas station, early Monday morning.
According to police, the suspect walked into the Marathon station, on Puritan near Livernois, which was fairly packed with people. At some point, he pulled out a gun and started shooting.
Four people were hit, police said. A man in his 30s was pronoucned dead at the scene, and three women were rushed to a local hospital in serious condition.
The other victims were identified as two women in their 30s, and one woman in her late 20s. Police said in an update Monday evening that one of the women died in the hospital.
As for what led to the shooting, a witness who didn't want to go on tape told WWJ Newsradio 950's Charlie Langton that there was some kind of dispute over the shooter buying snacks for female customers.
Police have not confirmed that detail, saying they're still investigating the motive.
The shooting happened at around 4 a.m. on July 28. As of 9 a.m., the suspect was still on the loose.
