Arson suspected after fire breaks out at Huron Valley guns in New Hudson

NEW HUDSON (WWJ) -- The owner of a gun range in southwest Oakland County suspects that arson is to blame for a fire in his establishment.

WWJ Newsradio 950 reports the fire broke out in the back of a 100 yard range; one of only a few at Huron Valley Guns on Grand River off Milford Road in New Hudson.

The owner said the fire started shortly after the close of business on Wednesday.

There were no injuries, and no damage was done to the gun store, Molly Pitcher's Café that's inside the same building, or a barbershop at the front of the store.

According to owner Ed Suter, the holiday season is a busy time at Huron Valley Guns. He said they are open for business as usual.

It's unclear why an arsonist might target the gun range.

No suspects have been named or described as the investigation into the fire continues.
