The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for all of Southeast Michigan, in effect until 10 p.m. Friday (3/13).

NWS forecasters warn that damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines, and widespread power outages are expected. Travel may be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Residents are urged to remain in the lower levels of their homes during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs, and use caution if you must drive.

Along with those winds, AccuWeather Meteorologist Joe Lundberg says Metro Detroit will see a couple of rain showers on Friday, with a snow shower possible when temperatures drop down into the 30s later in the day.

Flurries are in the forecast on a windy Friday night, with a low of around 27 degrees.

AccuWeather says Saturday will be chilly and a lot less windy, with a high of around 43 degrees.

Sunday is looking like a mixed bag, with a touch of snow or icy rain possible in the morning. Otherwise, AccuWeather said it'll become breezy and noticeably warmer Sunday afternoon, when temps could reach as high as 64 degrees. There is some rain the forecast Sunday night.
